Week 3: We Are Transformed

Apr 13, 2025    Pastor Edgar

As we approach Easter, we're called to reflect on what it truly means to live as a Christian in today's world. The sermon draws our attention to Romans 12:1-2, challenging us to become 'living sacrifices' for God. This powerful metaphor reminds us of the Old Testament practice of animal sacrifice, but now we're asked to offer ourselves - our thoughts, actions, and very lives - to God. It's a profound shift from external rituals to internal transformation. The message emphasizes that being 'in the world but not of it' requires us to constantly renew our minds, aligning our thoughts with God's truth rather than conforming to societal patterns. This renewal process isn't always easy, but it's essential for discerning God's will and living out our faith authentically. As we prepare our hearts for Easter, let's consider: How can we offer ourselves as 'living sacrifices' in our daily lives? In what ways can we resist conforming to the world and instead be transformed by the renewal of our minds?
